BlackHole: a new way to share files
« on: December 26, 2019, 03:56:20 PM »
My latest account at Mega has been closed after just 4 days. It had only 2 files inside.  :'(
A the moment I have the following amount of closed accounts
4 on Mediafire +
1 on Keep2Share +
2 on Mega =
----------------
7 accounts closed.

I'm sure that I'm not the only user with this problem, according to the amount of broken links in Undefeet.store.
I'm really seek of it, for two reasons:
1. when an account is closed, all the clips are gone, and I (or the re-upload team) need to re-upload them one by one
2. I'm not 100% sure that the admin just closes the account and that's it. For sure my digital footprint has been recorded and who knows what they do with this information? Maybe they let go for a couple of times, but who can tell if they take other measures (like reporting to authorities) if I keep opening accounts, load material that violates their TOS and get the account closed?

With these concerns in mind, I've searched for alternate solutions and I think I've found one: Blockstack, a decentralized file storage system based on block chain (like cryptocurrencies) where files are not stored on a single server, monitored by administrators, but they're split among several machines over the internet.
I've found this service, BlackHole (https://blackhole.run/) that let's you create a Blockstack account and upload files.
There is a limit on the file size, but there's no limit on the number of files that you can upload.
The file size limit is 512 MB, that is suitable for most of the crush clips we're sharing. For bigger clips, it's always possible to split the file (with WinRar or other software) and upload the resulting segments as separate files.
Their TOS is more generic that the TOS of Mediafire & C., for example they don't explicitly say that obscene and adult material is forbidden. In addition, the interface is very elementary and I didn't find links like "report abuse".
I'm pretty sure that this kind of solution could save us a lot of pain.

Were you already aware of this kind of solution?
Do you see any fault in it?
Do you think that is the same as uploading to Mediafire and Mega...
...or is it worthwhile to give it a try?

Looking forward to reading your comments.

I have censored the site url until our team of experts review it and make sure it is not a fishing ... it is to protect all members. Don't worry, if what your post is doing is like this, we will also allow this site to upload and download files.
The main problem is the accounts. The majority of sites require creating an account to upload files. This makes it only necessary to report 1 link, so that the entire account is suspended and all links deleted.
The solution I can think of is to use a server that doesn't need an account to upload files. In this way, if 1 or 2 links are reported, all other links will continue to work.
Even ahors I only found a server that allows you to upload files without an account: https://anonfile.com/
As they express it: Upload your files anonymously and free on AnonFiles. We offer you 20 GB filesize limit and unlimited bandwidth.

Just need to put up your own server like pornhub or other that have their own servers. anything other then that is a waist of time. It will all get removed this is why I never bother uploading anything until underfeet.store gets server of it's own. Then I will upload new clips not the same clips from 2017 and older. That's how the problem is solved... you want to do it then do it right.

UnderFeet will never have its own server, because a server like pornhub is too expensive, we can't keep servers like that, not without money at least. The people who bought points are very few, and in fact, since Underfeet was launched, we have not even raised 50 dollars per month, we can barely keep UnderFeet working and that thanks to Gustavo, who generously pays us from his own pocket what is missing to pay each month of the server.

Gus wasn't kidding when he said it was impossible to make money with a site similar to Fetishare, and he had Reason.
Now, I am willing to listen to ideas on how to finance a download server itself ... if you have any idea how to do this, I would be happy to put it into practice

It occurs to me that we could make a permanent subscription, where those who pay a monthly subscription of 50 or 100 dollars a month (for say any amount) would receive the benefit of no longer needing points to download, and the other users, could continue downloading videos normally with points bought or earned, but from our dedicated servers.

But we should make sure there are enough subscribers to be able to pay a dedicated server every month. I would love to be able to do this, worse I don't think it's possible, almost without nobody help

Loki, Thank you for your reply to me,

I really do not know the best solution... subscription service?, but if its only bitcoin option I am not sure how many will join. I use bitcoin and never use credit card any longer if bitcoin is an option. If the content was up to date then sure, I would purchase points from underfeet.store but the content seems to be old. I have a cf-zone account and I have purchased all the new clips but the risk to upload and have nothing in return is to high.  What will attract new users that will be willing to pay for a subscription to underfeet.store? It would be new current content, but at what risk? CF-Zone they are not stupid... when they first opened they seemed to be clueless but in fact they are very intelligent. So how do you get new content without having every user that shares banned form cf-zone? How do I know they will ban you? I was banned! and it was not easy to get back in, took me over 6 months to get back in :-/ hence my lack of wanting to trade,  do I want to risk it again? no :-/

The current problem seems to be hosting, If clips are being removed within a few days of being uploaded this is the problem that has to be addressed first... new server with subscription? try other free storage places? I really do not know. :(

To be honest this has always bothered me, while we are not dabbling with anything downright illegal (like kiddie porn and stuff like that) we operate in a barely gray area.

At some point I was part of a site that had to deal with a similar issue of files being taken down (due to copyright in my case). Back then we did not have anything like like anonfile.com, but it would have made our lives so much easier. We were always talking about ways in which we could avoid having to go through constant reuploads, the hypothetical way we came up with (never implemented) was to find a service like anonfile.com in which to upload the sensible files, then copy and place the download link in a simple text file to upload to a regular server (like mediafire). We thought it would be harder to report and get taken down because we were adding an additional layer of protection, and IF it did get taken down, it would only be the text file containing the download link, not the sensible files, which meant we could simply reupload the text file again with relative ease.

I've just checked it, but it seems to me that you need an account in order to upload files.
In addition, looking at the reasons in their REPORT ABUSE page, it seems that they don't allow neither Copyright infringement nor Pornography.

I'm afraid that every file hosting service with TOS and Report Abuse form is not suitable for our needs. This is why I was looking for a decentralized solution.

A similar site **********, many of the users are uploading to anonfile, the links have also been removed. anonfile also seems to be temporary.

I did not consider the legal aspect, If a dedicated server and subscription service was active, underfeet.store would be a host selling content. Without the consent of the content owners/producers this could cause legal issues.

Unfortunately this is above my knowledge, I do not fully understand all aspects. I will listen in, If I think of anything that may be of interest I will post.

One month has passed without news on this topic.
Did you review the site? What's the verdict? Do you still consider Mediafire and Mega better than this one?
Thank you,

Sorry for the delay, but after several tests, we decided that the site is safe and we decided to include https://blackhole.run/ to the list of accepted servers.
We have also decided to include https://dmca.gripe/ in the list, but 48 hours ago that this site is not working, it is probably receiving DDoS attacks or something similar, we can not know, so until that website is normalized , we will not include it in the server list

Thank you. I hope that dmca.gripe will join the list soon. I think it's even better than Blackhole for 2 reasons:
1. you're not forced to create an account in order to upload files
2. you can use JDownloader to download from it

How do you actually download files using BlackHole?  I've tried to download the Makayla clip several times.  The site says it is downloading, but my downloads tab shows nothing and once the site says the file is downloaded it doesn't appear in any search that I do on my computer.  There's no option to save to computer once it's been downloaded.  I've tried different browsers as well but the clip just won't download to my computer!

When you load the link to the file in your browser, you get a black box in the center of the page. This box tells you the file name and the download progress. When the progres reaches 100%, a Save As dialog should pop up. I used it successfully with Firefox. Which browser are you using? Could it be that some Javascript blocker make the process fail?
I suggest you to make a quick test. Create a small text file using Notepad or Wordpad, upload it, get the link and download it. It should take just a couple of seconds to reach 100%. What happens?

Makayla's clip has 5 downloads, so 4 users where able to download it. Please share your experience.

Also, if the link is not actually broken (like I hope), please restore it. I still have to download the clip ;)
Thank you!

Here is a video review of BlackHole in Spanish He shows how to upload files, in the end.
